Years ago, I found myself penniless with the electricity turned off in my one bedroom apartment in Connecticut. I wasn’t broke. But I was pretending that I was something I was not. I was pretending that I could keep up with the people around me financially. Truth is, I was in graduate school and working full time. I didn’t have a lot of extra. But I did have enough….if only I would spend it properly. It was at this time, on a chilly winter day, that I made the choice to do better. I believe we all come into this at our own pace. Some are proactive. Not me (at that time!). I needed a smack in the face to see the reality of my choices. I have never looked back.
In 2012, I started a private practice called Daily Financial Success. My goal was and still is, to help ease the daily stress of money for every person, group or couple that I work with. Money is huge part of life, yet we aren’t really equipped to understand it all.
When working with clients, I utilize a personal touch to work within your world, to make your money a tool, not a stress. I teach budgeting, educate on credit, education, retirement and the everyday tricks of the trade all while considering your personal needs. I focus on goal setting and action plans to achieve goals. I firmly believe that you can’t get there if you don’t know where “there” is. In my work, YOU come first and together we create a relationship where you are equipped to feel confident to move past financial counseling as quickly as possible.

Connect with me at marjorie@financialpearl.com or www.financialpearl.com If you would like to meet with me virtually or by phone for a 15 minute free consultation.

Hi! I’m Marjorie. Whether you’re seeking a financial counselor, coach, or mentor, I can help you and your money get moving towards YOUR desired financial future.
My goal: To be a source of financial information that is biased towards your wellbeing and future goals.
My approach: I like to call it Financial GPS. Where are you now? Where do you want to go (destination)? What is the best way to get to there from here? Our first steps will be getting a good idea of where you are at now, understanding where you want to be in the future and then plotting the course to get there. If you’re already down the road and have the foundational information down, then we’ll look at your unique financial roadblock, detour or scenic drive opportunity. As an accredited financial counselor (AFC), I act as a guide and educator, providing options, tools and resources.
A bit about me: As a child, my favorite Saturday morning activity was counting my piggy bank, which was actually a tin can with Snoopy on the front. I took that love of money and management, earned an MBA and worked in the government and non-profit sectors in financial and program management. From there, I found a passion for helping others meet their personal financial goals and earned the AFC designation.

I have been in this field since 2010. My philosophy for personal finance is that it isn't my job to force you into a plan. But I do know personal finances and how to approach goals. It is my job to help you help yourself. I can help make your life better by helping you make your finances better. I am not going to hand you a standardized plan that you have to follow step by step, whether it fits your lifestyle or not. Instead, if you want that step by step plan, I work with you to develop one that fits you. I am here to be a partner in achieving your goals. There are occasions when I sit down with someone and I immediately see something that can better their life quickly. It usually isn’t that easy. If you want to meet with someone one or two times to get an assessment of a financial issue and some possible solutions, I can do that. However, usually change and achieving goals takes time and hard work. And having a partner in that journey is very helpful. I don’t have a magic wand, but together, we can change your life and finances for the better. Your better.
